Transparent by Nature

Its important for us to be very transparent with our customers and want to tell you more about the reasons Designed by Nature did a voluntary product recall on our Whole Milk Powder, Goat Milk Powder and Base Milk Formulas in June 2021. 

What Happened?

The issue is related to the labeling on our packaging. We used the term ‘All Life Stages’ because our products are used by a wide range of age groups from children to adults. The FDA requires packaging for Infant formulas to be labeled specifically for Infants from 0-12 months. Also, the FDA regulates Infant Formulas and manufacturers must meet the FDA Infant Formula Act & Guidelines. This prompted the FDA to perform a thorough audit of our manufacturer, quality systems & standards, review our suppliers & ingredients.

What we Did

Following the audit results, we changed our labeling from ‘All Life Stages’ to ’Developed for 12 months to Adult’ to make sure we complied with all the FDA standard and did an immediate Voluntary Recall of our all products until our packaging was labeled according to the FDA requirements.
